At Lumitica, we treat your information with the same care we put into curating every accessory you find here. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you visit https://lumitica.com or place an order, why we collect it, who sees it on the way, and how you can exercise the rights you have under U.S. privacy laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, when those laws apply to you. Lumitica is a sole-proprietor business. References to "we," "us," and "our" mean Lumitica.

1. What we collect

We only collect information that helps us run the store, fulfill your order, and stay in touch when you've asked us to.

  • Information you give us. Your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number (when you provide one), and the contents of any message you send us.
  • Order and payment information. Items you purchase, order totals, and the last four digits and brand of your payment card. Full card numbers are handled directly by Shopify Payments and never reach our systems.
  • Account information. If you create an account, the email and password you choose, plus your saved preferences and order history.
  • Device and usage data. IP address, browser type, the pages you view on our store, the items you click or add to a cart, the referring site, and rough location derived from your IP. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.
  • Marketing engagement. If you subscribe to our emails, we record opens, clicks, and unsubscribes so we can send fewer, more relevant messages.

2. Why we collect it

  • To process your orders, take payment, ship your items, and send you order updates.
  • To respond to questions you send us through email or our contact form.
  • To send marketing emails when you have opted in, and to make those emails relevant.
  • To keep the store secure, prevent fraud, and detect abuse.
  • To understand how our store is used so we can improve product pages, navigation, and content.
  • To comply with our legal and tax obligations.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Lumitica uses cookies — small files saved by your browser — and similar technologies (pixels, local storage) for three purposes:

  • Strictly necessary. Keeping your cart, remembering your session, and processing checkout. The store will not work without these.
  • Analytics. Understanding which pages get visited and where shoppers drop off.
  • Marketing. Measuring whether our ads led to a visit or a purchase, and showing relevant ads on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest.

You can refuse non-essential cookies through the banner shown on your first visit, change your choice at any time through the cookie preferences link in the footer, or block cookies in your browser settings.

4. Who we share information with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to operate the store, and only the parts of it they need to do their job.

  • Shopify Inc. hosts our store, runs Shopify Payments (our payment processor), and stores order and customer records.
  • Klaviyo, Inc. sends our marketing and transactional emails and tracks engagement with those emails.
  • Syncee Ltd. and the independent suppliers we work with through Syncee receive the shipping name, address, and order contents needed to ship your order. They do not receive your payment information.
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, and Pinterest receive event data through their respective pixels and conversion APIs to measure the performance of our ads. We hash identifiable fields before they leave our store.
  • Government agencies, courts, or counsel when we are legally required to disclose information, or when we need to protect our rights or the safety of others.

If we ever sell, merge, or transfer the business, customer information may move with it. You will be notified before that happens and given the choices the law requires.

5. International transfers

Our service providers are based primarily in the United States and the European Union. If you visit us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region, your information will be transferred to and processed in those locations. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards where they apply.

6. How long we keep it

  • Customer and order records are kept for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to satisfy tax and accounting requirements (typically up to seven years).
  • Marketing email records are kept until you unsubscribe and for a short follow-up period afterward to honor your suppression request.
  • Browser analytics data is retained for a maximum of fourteen months.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
  • Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal exceptions (for example, completed orders we are required to keep).
  • Opt out of marketing emails — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Opt out of the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (for California residents).
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you are in the EEA or UK.

To exercise any of these rights, write to info@lumitica.com. We will verify the request against information we already have on file and respond within the timeframe set by the applicable law (typically 30 to 45 days).

8. California "Shine the Light" and Do Not Track

California residents may request a notice listing the categories of personal information we have shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes during the previous calendar year. To request this notice, email info@lumitica.com. Our store does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals; your cookie choices in the banner govern non-essential tracking.

9. Children

Lumitica is intended for adult customers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact info@lumitica.com and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information in a way that affects you, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be communicated by email when we have one for you.
